Great men of Africa

March 15, 2020 3 By Brian Ongoro

Thou great men of Africa
You who campaign in poetry
And govern in prose.
You men of naked promises
The unforgiving clock is ticking.

To you my mouth spits these words
And my hand heeds to the cries.
Men of divorced heads and deeds
Who woo the law to blindness
Making it handicapped to you.
Where are your hearts?

You who milk the poor sweat,
You who own everything at our cost,
You Lordships of deception
You who make the law calm
Remember Africa is on the rise.
