My Sunshine
May 18, 2020She called me her Sunshine
I couldn’t get the word right
I thought I was that bright
I thought I was one, right?
I was the sun for the day
She had her moon for the night
She could do well without me each night
She knew I couldn’t see that, I was blind
I couldn’t think of the sun
I couldn’t see it’s a star you know
There are galaxies and galaxies
I thought I was the only one.
I couldn’t see how she had burns
When the sun got hotter by day
So she meant I was a tortue
A scorch that wouldn’t heal
